So I have Staggerly theme in my blog: http://baliblogger.info/vipassana-in-java/ and I just discovered a very weird thing that theme does to featured image of the post.
So basically the max width of the image within the post is 595px. So when I upload images i try to keep them that exact size. But for some reason the theme resizes them bigger size to use as featured image source file. BUT! the shown image is still 595px.
So the image width is 595px but the source file is http://baliblogger.info/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/vipassana-java-720×304.jpg which is NOT the file I uploaded but the resized version that my theme did. And this resized image is now over 200KB while the original is around 60K. And you know how Google doesn’t like site with large media files? Plus I don’t see the point to make my site load faster. How do we fix that?
PS. Just to prove that original image was different, see screenshot from media library here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6y7ski79buc5wps/Screenshot%202015-06-23%2018.02.48.png?dl=0
